About the artist

A working studio, fifty years on.

I have been painting the same country for fifty years. The light over the Prairie Dog Town Fork at six in the morning. The quiet of a chapel at Canoncita. A horse standing in pasture before the day asks anything of him.

I do not paint to surprise people. I paint to keep faith with what I have been given to see.
