Learning Is My Bag

August 7, 2026·1 min read

Learning is my bag—and so is summer. I’m having a ball after being among the first admitted to the Chroma Art Community. Since June I’ve been spending at least 14 hours a week in formal classical art training, and I’m over the moon about the opportunity. My classes include Drawing Mastery, Oil Painting Mastery, and Composition & Master Copy, along with time spent with accomplished artists.

Our granddaughter has been working hard on her horsemanship skills and successfully competed with the Big 5 horse association. She’s been riding her cousin’s rope horse, Suzy Blue—who, we all agree, prefers a gentler touch.

Another highlight this summer has been giving youth art lessons to some seriously aspiring young artists. Last week I brought flowers from my garden and we painted them together.

The Mother Road art event is still in progress—I’ll let you know when the show is hanging. Right now the biggest exhibition on view is Best of the Southwest. Be sure to stop by and see it!

As always, I’m so happy to see you this Friday and deeply grateful to the collectors who have purchased some of my paintings this month.

Stay cool & come see me!
