Fall Color

October has been a very color filled month with a class in the fall colors of New Mexico with great artists Qiang Huang who was born in Beijing, China and has lived in the US for 40 years. He earned a PhD in physics and has studied color for many years.

The garden has been put to rest for winter, the Howard farm pumpkin patch has brightened up western street and the temperature is cooling off as we slip into autumn I want to take a paint brush and create something to share with you on every corner. Three of our grandchildren added another year during this month with one of them obtaining the teens coveted driving permit.

I was blessed to spend time with a friend Cecelia Cox, from my past who is now riding and showing dressage horses and my friend from Colorado joined me in Santa Fe for the painting workshop.

I’d you have ever wanted to explore Plein Aire painting, come and join us in Palo Duro Canyon  on the first Monday of each Month. I’m always happy to give you free lessons on outdoor painting.

If you’re ever facing joint decisions and could use some guidance, I highly recommend Relief/Today and Dr. Keith Bjork—they’ve been fantastic. Recovery has a way of giving me extra time […]

November Slipped by a Mach Speed

December 4, 2025 By Lee Blakeney

The colors of autumn exploded across New Mexico and Texas, inspiring me to grab a paintbrush and mix colors wildly to recreate God’s breathtaking palette. We started in Albuquerque to watch our grandson perform at the International Western Music Association. I also enjoyed seeing my friend Stephanie West present her book at the New Mexico […]
